Located in lush coconut groves and fronted by a crescent shaped beach, the Amanwella is a luxurious and chic beach resort located near the quaint village of Tangalle.
The contemporary design of the resort blends inextricably with its locale through the extensive use of regional materials and aesthetics; distinctive terracotta roof tiles, hand-hewn stone walls, water features, terrazzo floors and sliding terrace doors. There are thirty luxury suites on offer which are identical in their layout and connected by pathways. Every suite benefits from its own sparkling pale aqua plunge pool and sun terrace. The Resort's 45 feet long main swimming pool features a unique 'internal wall' design, with uninterrupted views of the staggering front stage of palms, beach and ocean.
There are many natural delights on offer here including the long white beaches, tall tropical palms, rocky outcrops and the calming turquoise ocean a buzzing local village, rock temples and some exciting wildlife in the vicinity make the stay here even more exciting. During the winter months guests can enjoy swimming on calmer days, while snorkelling is possible along the southern headland, usually protected from the ocean swell during the dry sea. Amongst the many experiences that one can indulge in at the Amanwella, one can also observe giant turtles laying eggs on the beach nearby. |
