Surrounded by mountains and tropical forests, the Ella Adventure Park is a eco-resort situated on the banks of the river Kirindi Oya and a perfect getaway for those seeking adventure at its best.
The adventure park offers 10 jungle chalets, a tree house, the Ankelipauwa camping site and a few eco-lodges located beside the river. The chalets, designed after traditional Sri Lankan village huts and built with locally available material, are rustic yet comfortable and blend into the wilderness giving guests a sense of living in the forest. The surrounding forest is home to many exotic birds, butterflies and insects.
All the chalets and lodges have their balconies and terraces overlooking the surrounding forest and are ideal for bird watching. The Tree House, built around a gigantic tree has its roots going through the bedroom and can be accessed by a rope bridge. Lit stone covered pathways link the chalets, lodges and the camp site to the restaurant and reception area.
There are several outdoor activities organised for kids and adults alike which include rock climbing, canoeing on the Handapangala lake, nature treks, hiking through traditional rural villages and bird watching. Camps out in the jungle or beside the river with a fire and BBQ dinner are also possible.
