According to the epic, Ravana the king of demons abducted Sita, the wife of Lord Rama and held her in Sri Lanka. Rama’s loyal warrior, the monkey god ‘Hanuman’ tracked Sita down to Ravana's stronghold. Lore has it that the monkey god used the Ritigala Mountain as a launching pad to leap across to South India to convey the news to Lord Rama. The mountain also features the remains of ancient Buddhist temples, hospitals and the dwellings of priests. Overnight at the hotel. (Vehicle at disposal)
