Detailed Itinerary :
Day 01 : Arrival in Colombo- Harbarana (185km/4hrs)
Greeted by Sri Lanka Travel Centre representative at the Bandaranaike International Airport and transferred to Habarana, located in the heart of the Cultural Triangle where you will check into the Chaya Village resort. Relax and unwind. Overnight at the resort. (Vehicle for the transfer)

Day 02 : Habarana
Begin your wildlife expeditions today.Spend the entire day today at the Minneriya National Park whose geography consists of mixed evergreen forests and scrub areas. The park is the home to sambar deer, reptiles, toque monkeys. One of the key highlights is the huge gatherings of elephants who congregate around the lakes. Return to the hotel in the evening. Overnight at the Chaya Village. (Vehicle at disposal)

Day 03 : Habarana – Wasgamuwa (70kms / 2½hrs)
Visit the Sigiriya rock fortress today, an awe inspiring palace- cum- fortress sitting atop a 200m rock outcrop. Built in the 5th century by a tyrant king fleeing exile, the fortress, now rated as the eighth wonder of the world, is a jaw-dropping architectural marvel. Travel onwards to Wasgamuwa, bordered by the enchanting Mahaweli and Amban rivers, where you will camp out in the wild for the night. Overnight stay. (Vehicle at disposal).

Day 04 : Wasgamuwa
Board an open-topped four-wheel drive jeep and enjoy a jungle safari ride n the morning. After the safari, you will return to the campsite for a refreshing wash in the river (or the camp shower..!). Have lunch in the campsite and spend the afternoon at leisure. Later you could enjoy another evening ride of the park before returning to the campsite for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 05 : Wasgamuwa – Kandy (140km/4hrs)
After breakfast proceed to Kandy. Enroute, you could pay a visit to the Veddah tribal Village in Dambana . On arrival in Kandy visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. You could also enjoy a Cultural show in town featuring traditional Kandyan dance performances. Check into the Chaya citadel for your overnight stay. (Vehicle for transfer)

Day 06 : Kandy – Nuwara Eliya (80km/2.5hrs)
Travel to the lush green hills of Nuwara Eliya.You could choose to travel by train, which will take you through some stunning hill country. Alternatively, you could also travel by car, visiting the Royal Botanical Gardens and the stunning Ramboda Falls enroute. You could also visit a tea factory and a plantation, where guided tours are available. Continue to tea hills of Nuwara Eliya and take a tour of the Little English Town. Check in to the St. Andrews hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 07 : Nuwara Eliya – Udawalawe (125km/ 3hrs)
Leave the hotel early in the morning and proceed to visit the Horton Plains. Horton Plains is undoubtedly one of the world’s best nature reserves. It is characterized by a beautiful landscape of rolling hills, covered in upper slopes, and the grasslands in the valleys, eventually giving way to wetland habitats. The park is home to a wide variety of flora and 24 species of mammals such as elk, deer, giant squirrel, wild boar, porcupine, wild hare and leopard. There are also 87 species of birds, including many migratory kinds. Baker’s Falls, Chimney Pool and the proverbial World’s End are some of the other attractions of the plains. After the excursion you will head south to Udawalawe. On your way you will visit the Elephant Transit Home, located just outside Udawalawe National Park. You will then travel in to the park by jeep and arrive in your campsite, where you will spend the night. (Vehicle for transfer)

Day 08 : Udawalawe
Board the jeep early in the morning and take a safari tour of the park. Udawalawe National Park is most famous for the many elephants that live there. In addition to this main attraction, the park is also home to water buffalo, water monitor lizard, sambar deer monkeys and the occasional leopard. The park is also an exciting location for bird enthusiasts. Return to the campsite and spend the evening at leisure. Overnight stay.

Day 09 : Udawalawe – Yala (140kms / 3½hrs)
Travel to Yala and check into your hotel. Spend the rest of your day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel. (Vehicle for the transfer.)

Day 10 : Yala
You will spend the entire day at Yala National Park. A jeep will pick you from the hotel early in the morning and take you to the park. Yala National Park is renowned for the variety of its wildlife, most notably its many elephants, number of leopards, and its finest coastline associated with beautiful coral reefs. It was at this park that Steve Irwin did his feature for the Crocodile Hunter, on the killer Mugger Crocodile. Return to the hotel and spend your evening at leisure. Overnight stay.

Day 11 : Yala – Rekawa (110kms / 2½hrs)
After breakfast proceed along the southern coast to Rekawa. The small fishing village of Rekawa is a popular stretch of beach where visitors can observe the ancient ritual of turtles coming ashore to lay eggs. Five out of seven species of marine turtles that are familiar (but endangered) come to nest in this part of the Sri Lankan coastline. Check in to the campsite and enjoy some turtle watching in the evening. Overnight stay. (Vehicle for the transfer)

Day 12 : Rekawa
Have breakfast at the campsite and take part in various activities include bird watching. In the evening you could spend time turtle watching. Overnight stay.

Day 13 : Rekawa – Bentota (135kms / 3½hrs)
Travel along the coast to Bentota where you have the option of taking a whale and dolphin watching excursion in Mirissa on the way . Large pods of dolphins are seen regularly, and, in the migration season (April), blue whales can be found just a few miles offshore. You could also visit the city of Galle on your way. Continue to Bentota and check in to the hotel for overnight stay. (Vehicle for the transfer.)

Day 14 : Bentota – Airport
Departure transfer to the airport for your return flight.
