Day 03: Kalawana Proceed to the Sinharaja Forest Reserve. The island’s top bio-diversity spot, the Singharaja Forest is home to many endemic species of trees, insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. Enjoy an escorted trek in the forests before returning to your hotel. For those interested, there is another uphill trek of about 1.5 km, providing excellent photo opportunities of various reptiles and insects. Overnight at the resort.
Day 04 : Kalawana – Yala (200 km / 5 hr) Travel to Yala. Upon arrival at the entrance of Yala National Park, you will board a Jeep and travel to your campsite inside the Park. The Park is renowned for the variety of its wildlife most notably its many elephants and leopards, and the fine coastline. The locations where you will be camping are in areas excellent for observing the Park’s varied wildlife from the camp itself. In the evening you could enjoy a safari ride in the Park and a hearty barbecue meal in a magical setting – the whole area is lit up with traditional flame torches and a roaring campfire. Overnight at the campsite (vehicle at disposal).

Day 08: Ella – Nuwara Eliya (60 km / 2hr) Travel to Nuwara Eliya in the morning. Also aptly known as the Little English Town, the city was founded by the English as a hill retreat to escape from the warm climates of the lowlands. The English architecture, the inglenook fireplaces, well manicured gardens and paved walkways bear testimony to the British era that ended not too long ago. The region is popular for its tea plantations covering mountain ranges. Check into the hotel where you can leave your luggage. You have the option of climbing Adam’s Peak later in the night. This excursion is best pursued between December and May, when it is considered the season and pilgrims climb the holy mountain to worship the footprint of Lord Buddha and view an exquisite sunrise. You will climb down later in the morning (vehicle at disposal).
Day 09: Nuwara Eliya – Mount Lavinia (190 km /5 hr) If the visit to the Adam’s Peak is not possible or should you find the climb a little strenuous, you could opt to visit the Horton Plains instead. Proceed to Horton Plains after an early breakfast where you can trek along a 14 km stretch and visit the breathtaking Bakers’ Fall and the proverbial ‘World’s End’ which offers one of the best panoramic views in Sri Lanka. Continue to Mount Lavinia. You will arrive in the lovely colonial mansion by the sea in the evening. Overnight at the hotel. (Vehicle at disposal)
Day 10: Colombo – Departure (40 km / 1hr) Leave the hotel to the airport in time for departure. (Vehicle for transfer)
