| Detailed Itinerary : |
Day 01: Arrival Colombo- Waikkal (19km/40mins) Welcomed by Sri Lanka Travel Centre representative and transferred to Waikkal. Check into the Club Dolphin Resort and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Enjoy a relaxing boat ride in Gin Oya later in the afternoon. Overnight at the hotel. (Vehicle for the transfer)
Day 02: Negombo – Pinnawela - Kandy (130km/3.5hrs) After an early breakfast, enjoy an escorted walking tour of the city of Negombo. It has a picturesque lagoon, numerous Catholic churches and an impressive network of canals built by the Dutch which are currently being restored. The true life of Negombo can be observed in its busy fish markets where vendors and buyers bargain for the best prices. Travel to Kandy where you can visit the elephant orphanage in Pinnawela enroute. You could also visit the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya along the way. Spread across 150 acres, the gardens offer an excellent walking trail to enjoy the beautiful flowers, herbal plants and orchid house e. Arrive in Kandy in the evening. Overnight at the Citadel. Day 03: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya (80km/2.5hrs) After an early breakfast head to Udawatta Kele for a trekking expedition. You can pay a visit to the temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha and take a quick tour of the city of Kandy before heading out to Nuwara Eliya. The region is also popular for its tea plantations that blanket the mountain ranges. Enjoy a guided tea factory tour. Arrive in Nuwara Eliya in the afternoon and check into the St. Andrews Hotel. Spend the day at leisure. Later tonight, proceed to the base of the Adam’s Peak Mountain, where you will begin your ascent to the top. Jutting sharply skyward from the lush jungles of southwestern Sri Lanka is the 7362 ft (2243 m peak of Sri Pada, the 'Holy Footprint'. Adam's Peak has the unique distinction of being sacred to the followers of four of the world's major religions.
Day 04: Nuwara Eliya You will reach the peak of the mountain early in the morning to witness a glorious sunrise. Return to the base and travel back to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at the hotel. (Vehicle at disposal)
Day 05: Nuwara Eliya – Belihuloya (110km/3hrs) After an early breakfast, you could proceed to Horton Plains in the hills which is home to many endemic loris and purple monkeys. Trek along a 14 km stretch and visit the breathtaking Bakers’ fall and the proverbial ‘World’s End’ which offers one of the best panoramic views in Sri Lanka.Travel to Belihuloya and check into River GardenResort for your overnight stay. Day 06: Belihuloya The day is free to enjoy any one of the numerous scenic treks available at the Resort. The Hagala trek that unveils stunning views of the mountains, the Appalagala trek that explores the semi-evergreen forest and dry grasslands and the half-day trek through villages to the Samanala Wewa are a few of the many available options to choose from. Overnight at the resort.
Day 07: Belihuloya – Kalawana (90km/2.5hrs) The morning is free to explore the activities available at the resort. Checkout in the afternoon and proceed to Kalawana. Overnight at the Rainforest Edge. (Vehicle at disposal)
Day 08: Kalawana Leave the hotel early in the morning today to visit the enchanting Singharaja Rain Forest. The island’s top bio diversity spot, the Singharaja forest is home to many endemic species of trees, insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. Enjoy an escorted trek in the forests before returning to your hotel. Overnight at the hotel. (Vehicle at disposal)
Day 09: Kalawana – Mount Lavinia (130km/3hrs) After breakfast, proceed to Colombo. You will arrive in the commercial capital in the afternoon. The rest of the day is free to explore Colombo’s myriad of shopping and dining adventures. This highly underrated city boasts the perfect union between colonial imperialism and modern sophistication and offers a thriving art scene, fantastic culinary delights and high-end brands at bargain prices. Overnight stay at the Mount Lavinia. (Vehicle for sightseeing)
Day 10: Colombo – Departure (40km/1hr) Leave the hotel to the airport in time for departure. (Vehicle for transfer)
